Pay Rate: $19.87 to $22.00/hr.

Hours per week: 40

Community Services for Children is seeking Therapeutic Teachers for our premiere Therapeutic Program for high risk Infants/Toddlers and their families. Join CSC in implementing a leading edge Early Head Start therapeutic program that restores the effects of maltreatment in drug/alcohol impacted children. Work Environment:

Community Services for Children requires all staff members provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment. We want to create the safest workplace possible and protect children and families. This is also necessary in order to comply with President Biden’s mandated vaccination guidance for all Head Start/Early Head Start programs. Candidates who are selected for this position will have to meet the COVID-19 vaccination condition of employment.

A monetary incentive will be paid to newly hired Therapeutic Teachers. The payout amount is based upon the hired teacher’s educational level and paid upon completion of probationary period.

-Recipient will receive a $500 incentive for an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

-Recipient will receive a $750 incentive for a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Community Services for Children is offering a onetime $75 COVID-19 vaccination incentive for new hired staff members who are able to show proof of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. The payout will be paid upon successful completion of probation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized quality care to infants and toddlers meeting the Head Start Program Standards, NAEYC Accreditation Standards and PA Learning Standards for Early Childhood.
  • Ensure the use of Early Head Start educational philosophy, approach and curriculum within a primary care model.
  • Build nurturing, responsive relationships with infants and toddlers in a therapeutic classroom setting.
  • Maintain an integrated classroom environment that meets the needs of infants and toddlers.
  • Implement a developmental, child-centered approach that is sensitive to the needs of high-risk children and their families.
  • Complete ongoing developmental assessment, observation and individualized planning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families and community partners to provide high quality care and services to children.
  • Supervise, develop and evaluate Assistant Teachers.

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree required in Early Childhood Education.
  • Three years’ experience working with infants and toddlers in an early education setting.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to organize and maintain records, basic computer skills.
  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
