Job Description

Responsible for day-to-day commission tasks for the Broker-Dealer and RIA business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Reconcile Commission Data to Cash Receipts
  • Review Carrier Commission Statements for Accuracy and Completeness
  • Perform data entry of Commission Statement details
  • Monitor Vendor Websites for Available Commission Details
  • Monitor Uploads from Vendors
  • Prepare Upload of Commission Data to Commission Database

Additional job duties include, but not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare Weekly Payout Report
  • Assist with development of Excel-based Commission Tracking database
  • Reconcile and Enter Fees and Service Charges as assessed
  • Special projects
  • Identify areas for Improved Efficiency and Risk Control

Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates must meet minimum job qualifications. The ideal candidate should possess three to five years of compensation experience in the financial services arena. Knowledge about FINRA and SEC regulated Broker-Dealer/RIA is a plus. Familiarity with Pershing and their systems is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are preferred. An Excel test may be given to applicants to determine knowledge.
  • Desired candidates will have a customer focus and a strong analytical mindset. In addition, attention to detail/accuracy and understanding of controls is necessary to succeed in this role. Manual data entry is essential at times, and the ability to analyze data to help identify and understand trends and irregularities is expected. This position requires strong communication skills, and ability to work with rep partners and vendors, as well as strong time management skills to meet deadlines. Insurance and broker dealer commission knowledge is preferred.
