Job Description

NeuroRestorative, a member of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Therapeutic Counselor

Provide counseling to individuals and/or families using multiple forms of therapeutic approaches.

Work with individuals and/or families to address issues such as adjustment to injury, behavioral management, depression, anxiety, and problems with self-esteem.

Have the ability to apply counseling theories and techniques to prevent or alleviate mental and emotional issues.

Facilitate/co-facilitate counseling groups.

Participate in treatment planning with a transdisciplinary team.

Have the ability to maintain professional relationships with team members.

Consult with staff, team members and family about treatment recommendations and progress.

Submit electronic medical records for participants served, indicating objectives, strategies, and outcomes obtained.

Attend training as scheduled and/or appropriate; attend weekly discipline meeting as well as meetings with supervisor as necessary.

Ensure evaluation, progress, and discharge reports on each program participant are completed in a timely manner.

Ensure adherence to accreditation standards and ethics of confidentiality.

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in a Human Services field.

Two years of relevant experience.

LPC, LCPC or LCSW or similar licensure required.

If the applicant does not have a current licensure, then have a pathway to secure one in a timely manner.

Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task.

Ability to maintain composure and exercise sound judgement and discretion.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Exceptional communication skills with an ability to establish trust and rapport quickly.

A good listener with the ability to empathize while still providing guidance.
