Web Application Developer

Job Description:

Talus payments is seeking a talented web front-end and middle tier application developer and support person to join our growing team working in a collegial and fast-paced environment. The team is small, fast-moving, and generally follows an Agile software development approach. Our technology stack is focused on Microsoft products (generally IIS, Net, SQL, and Azure DevOps data repository). Microsoft products enable our development and version control efforts while collaboration ais supported by JIRA. Our company is undergoing a shift from multiple legacy in-hours systems to cloud-based solutions. This transformation will require a developer who is able to understand existing functions and support them.

  • Writes software and builds software products, creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components. Supports existing software applications.
  • Participates in daily stand-up meetings and enhances backlog with technical input
  • Communicates clearly with internal peers within development team and end users
  • Develops technical specifications and elaboration of user stories
  • Participates in source control, change management, defect tracking and resolution cycles
  • Conducts code reviews and identifies enhancements to existing code
  • Actively helps the team to choose the right technology and to solve technical problems
  • Provides support for software products in user environments
  • Leads and participates in knowledge sharing

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of work experience in design and new development of enterprise level web applications
  • 5+ years of work experience with Visual Studio IDE
  • 5+ years of work experience with .Net, 4.X (C#, ASP .NET)
  • 5+ years of work experience with Microsoft SQL Server development, Stored Procedures, and TSQL
  • 4+ years of work experience with consuming API Web Service (REST/SOAP)
  • 4+ years of work experience with JavaScript
  • 3+ years of console applications
  • 3+ years of work experience with IIS
  • Prior experience with version control applications
  • Background in secure coding practices
  • Knowledge of web technologies (JSON, HTML, Java Script, CSS, CMS, DHTML, XML, XSD, XSL, jQuery)
  • Knowledge of embedding third party software libraries
  • Capacity to explain frameworks, concepts, and design patterns across software architecture and integration

Experience Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL development tools (SSIS, SSRS)
  • Experience with Salesforce development
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, source control
  • Design and development of enterprise applications associated with PCI Scope
  • Lifecycle maintenance for legacy applications (analysis, feature development, product retirement)
  • Knowledge of web technologies MVC 4.0/5.0
  • Experience developing and maintaining classic ASP applications
  • Experience with scripting applications, Powershell, windows shell script and batch

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar field

Job Type: Full Time Employee, Dallas, TX (In process of gradually returning to office for a hybrid schedule. Some days in office and some days work from home

Job Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 6:00 pm
