Arconic is currently in search of SENIOR ASSOCIATE, SALES AND USE TAX to join our Taxation Team in Pittsburgh, PA

Candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of sales and use tax returns.
Candidate is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that Arconic Corporation and its subsidiaries remain in compliance with all state and local sales and use tax filing requirements.
This position requires interaction with State and local government agencies; gathering and analyzing various reports that contain tax and gross sales information; working with business unit and ledger personnel for understanding of accruals and for information concerning sale and use tax; reconciliation of accrual accounts; working knowledge of Oracle and Discoverer reports; understanding CorpSales tax software to properly report tax on between 200-300 returns each month; must be able to work under pressure within short time deadlines.
Candidate will prepare and complete refund claims as necessary with various taxing jurisdictions;
Responsible for monthly and annual return archive process; maintaining departmental filing calendar; and will be the primary contact to resolve any issues with the Accounts Payable team.
Candidate will complete testing for internal audit requirements as well as assist with tax software testing requirements.
Candidate will receive and rectify tax notices that are received from various state and local taxing jurisdictions.
Candidate will be responsible for SU Tax mailbox with assistance provided by Sales and Use Tax Manager as needed.
Candidate will assist Sales and Use Tax Manager with state and local audit requests as needed.
Candidate must be accurate, detail-oriented, and be able to manage several projects at one time.
Candidate must be highly motivated and must be able to work independently. Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in order to communicate with the state and local taxing jurisdictions successfully.
Candidate must be computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office products; must be able to navigate CorpSales tax return software; must be able to interact and provide information to others in the department.
Must be able to perform tax research and address supplier inquiries related to sales and use tax matters.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in accounting, finance or business.
3 years’ minimum experience in a similar role.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S> person as a U.S> citizen, U.S> Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
