Therapeutic Assistive Technology Coordinator

Responsibilities

Evaluate and determine the appropriate assistive technology that will help individuals to perform tasks that they are unable to accomplish or have great difficulty accomplishing

Coordinate with healthcare professionals to assess and recommend appropriate assistive technology based on individuals’ needs

Act as a resource to the individuals served requiring assistive technology information.

Prepare written materials (e.g. product evaluations, procedures, instructions, memos, letters, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information

Establish and maintain business relationships with providers, facilities, and all referral sources.

Provide technical assistance and training to staff and individuals served to ensure their ability to use new and/or existing devices

Research assistive devices, computer hardware, and software applications, vendors, consultants, etc. to become a more knowledgeable expert on assistive technology devices and serve as a resource to staff in providing the latest technology options

Manage documentation and paperwork process for provision and reimbursement.

Maintain documents, files, and records (e.g. license information, usage logs, inventory, etc.) to provide up-to-date reference and audit trail

Adhere to all local, state, and federal requirements such as ACHC, HIPAA, OSHA, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required

One year of experience preferred

Associate’s Degree with experience in Assistive Technology 100 hours of formal training in Assistive Technology with related experience and commitment to earn certificate may substitute for above qualifications

Assistive Technology Applications certificate preferred

Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
